Bangalore, January 16th 2008: Toyota Kirloskar Motor, (TKM) India's leading automobile manufacturing company has appointed Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa as the new Managing Director today. Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa was formerly General Manager, Plant Administration Division at the Tsutsumi Plant, Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan.
The appointment is with effect from January 11, 2008 and Mr. Nakagawa takes up his board position immediately. He takes over from Mr. A. Toyoshima. Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa has around 30 years experience in the automobile industry, with a strong grounding in all aspects of sales, new model development, production and product support. He is a graduate in Politics & Economics at MEIJI University, Japan.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa, New MD TKM said: "This new position will be extremely challenging and I am excited at the opportunities to lead the Indian operations of Toyota. One of the biggest challenges is to ensure that all teams work together towards the same goal to assure best service to its customers."
"Our aims are to increase customer satisfaction, expand the business with our dealers, suppliers and other affiliate companies and improve the quality of life of our employees. Through this we shall grow together and contribute to Indian society and economy. It is particularly important as we step into the next decade of our operations in India where in TKM would be a major player in the global auto market." Mr. Nakagawa said.
The previous MD Mr. Atsushi Toyoshima, who completed his five-year term, will now head the European operations of Toyota Boshoku, a Toyota group company, one of the main suppliers of Toyota Motor Corporation. Commenting on Mr. Nakagawa's appointment, Mr. Toyoshima said: "Mr. Nakagawa had spearheaded the launch of IMV as Vice President of Toyota Motor Thailand. So he will successfully lead TKM into a new era of expansion."

Toyota Kirloskar Motor is a joint venture between Toyota Motor Corporation and the Kirloskar Group. TKM has invested nearly Rs. 1,500 crore in its plant in Bidadi, employing around 3000 people.
