- TKM’s unique T-TEP initiative is associated with 53 Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) and Diploma Institute covering 22 states in India
Gaya, 08th September 2022: Toyota Kirloskar Motor [TKM] today announced the launch of T-TEP at Aryabhatt Polytechnic, Gaya, with this our T-TEP collaboration reaches to 53 institutes. The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance the student’s skill sets with special focus on rural areas, thereby strengthening their employability through the company’s unique training initiative namely Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP).
The inauguration event was graced by Mr. Jitan Ram Manjhi, Former Chief Minister, Government of Bihar, Mr. Tsering Dorjai, Deputy Inspector General, Sashastra Seema Bal, Gaya, Mr. Kumar Avinash, Director, Aryabhatt Polytechnic, Gaya and other dignitaries from Technical education and ITI education board in the presence of Mr. Paresh Kumar, Dealer Principal, Budha Toyota, Patna, Mr. Vikram Gulati, Country Head & Executive Vice President, TKM, Mr. Narender Kukreti, Deputy General Manager, TKM and Mr. Kai Hirata, General Manager, TKM.
Aimed at generating talented and technically skilled professionals for the automobile industry, T-TEP strongly contributes to India’s “Skill India” mission. With T-TEP, thus far, TKM is associated with 53 ITI/Polytechnic colleges covering 22 states. Currently, more than 10,000 students have been trained and 70% of the students are working in various automobile companies in the country.
On this occasion, Mr. Jitan Ram Manjhi, Former Chief Minister, Government of Bihar said, “Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s initiative, in collaboration with Aryabhatt Polytechnic, Gaya will have a big impact towards developing highly skilled, employable, and future ready youths. These efforts of collaboration by industry partners like Toyota which are aligned with the Government of India’s Skill India Mission will support in bridging the existing skills gap and help develop world-class workforce in state of Bihar.”
Expressing his views, Mr. Vikram Gulati, Country Head & Executive Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “Globally, Toyota is known for its exceptional quality products and services, which stems from developing world-class people, processes, and necessary infrastructure. We are continuously growing and adapting to the changing needs and dynamics of auto industry.
Automotive industry is growing tremendously and since 2006 T-TEP has become a benchmark by adopting exceptional training modules, thereby benefitting the automotive service industry and society at large. Through the T-TEP initiative, we develop talented youths by equipping them with world-class training on advanced technologies. In this direction, our collaboration with Aryabhatt Polytechnic, Gaya will strengthen the talent pool from the grass root level and provide opportunities for youth with special focus on rural areas. We are happy to announce that 7 students who recently completed crash course under T-TTEP are being offered employment by our partners at Toyota Dealerships in Patna and Gaya. ”
Talking about this partnership, Mr. Paresh Kumar, Dealer Principal, Budha Toyota, Patna said, “With advancements in technology in the auto industry and unprecedent growth in motorization, we need to ensure that the consumers receive the best-in-class services, especially in rural areas. To align with this requirement, we will be need highly skilled technicians, making it imperative that students at technical training centers have access to advanced technologies and gain hands-on training experience. With this collaboration, students of Aryabhatt Polytechnic, Gaya will get an opportunity to understand Toyota’s values, best practices, and advanced technologies which will benefit not only the students but also the entire industry, thereby contribute toward the Skill India Mission.”
As a part of this initiative, Toyota will support the institute with latest curriculum covering automobile fundamentals, safety, Toyota values and basic soft skills. The company along with its dealer partner have invested over Rs 1.5 million towards infrastructure, e-learning contents, engines, transmissions, practice kits and train the institute’s faculty through its unique Train-The-Trainer approach. In addition, TKM’s dealer partner – Budha Toyota will also support by providing On-Job-Training to these students. Aryabhatt Polytechnic, Gaya will effectively adopt this program via T-TEP syllabus and enable the students to undergo the on-the-job training.
